Seal Type
The cassette seal for rotating shafts offers several functions such as static and dynamic sealing at the same time and with greater reliability in comparison to other seals and protection against external contaminations.
The cassette seal has been developed and put on to the market in order to satisfy the requests of a longer working life, reliability and better performance in particular in a muddy, dusty and wet environment.
The product Cassette seal offers several advantages, the main ones are:
* It is less sensitive to possible damages during its handling
* It has got high resistance against external contamination thanks to its inner labyrinths
* The shaft does not need any special working (no hardening and grinding)
* The replacement of the Cassette during its application life does not require the remachining of the shaft
Polytetrafluoroethylene is resistant to practically all kinds of industrial chemicals. It is serviceable between -260°C and 260°C. PTFE is an ideal material for non-lubricated bearings owing to its extremely low coefficient of friction and free of stick-slip. Certain types are excellent in electrical insulation. PTFE is used either virgin or filled with glass fibre, carbon, graphite, bronze or molybdenum sulphide depending on the application.
